Zelenskyy Addressed the Participants of the 73rd “Berlinale”

On February 16, the president opened the 73rd Film Festival with a speech linking culture and politics

This year the 73rd Berlinale International Film Festival in Berlin has started. And this year is the most apparent than ever: geopolitics and culture are inextricably linked.

"Not when it is a policy of mass crimes, murders, terror, the desire to destroy other countries and other peoples. When it is a policy of total war. That is the policy of current Russia," Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

From February 16 to February 26, the outstanding films of the last year will be presented, and among them is Sean Penn's Superpower. The organizers of Berniale supported the Ukrainians in a very touching way, and the traditional bears-symbols of the film festival were cast in yellow and blue."As always, fundamental. As always, relevant. And this year — as much solidarity with Ukraine and with our struggle for freedom as possible. The blue and yellow colours of Berlinale's symbol, the famous bear, this year are genuinely touching. And powerfully . Together, we prove that even the bear is right,"  Zelenskyy.

The president stressed that choice is the driving force in every sphere of life. And depending on this choice, development takes place, and words are selected. Russia is trying to take Ukraine's choice away and separate it from Europe with a wall, but thanks to the support of everyone who cares about the future of Europe, Ukraine will win.
