The summit of the European political community started today in Moldova. The leaders of all EU states attended the summit, Ursula von der Leyen, Roberta Metsola and Charles Michel. Volodymyr Zelenskyy also took part in the summit.
According to the president's website, Zelenskyy thanked the EU leaders for their consistently strong support of our state in this dark time. The president noted that Ukraine is qualitatively fulfilling its obligations in the status of a candidate member of the European Union: recommendations of the European Commission. In June of this year, intermediate results are expected to be announced on Ukraine's readiness for negotiations on joining the European Union.
The parties discussed security guarantees for Ukraine until the moment of its entry into NATO, the implementation of the Peace formula — the president's initiative regarding the settlement of peace in Europe and globally.
Today, in a number of European countries, there is a temporary ban on the purchase of Ukrainian grain since local farmers cannot compete with cheap export grain from Ukraine. Zelenskyy again stressed the need to address this issue with beneficial results for each market participant.
