On May 19, Volodymyr Zeleskyy landed in Saudi Arabia to meet with the leaders of Oman, the United Arab Emirates and Saudi Arabia. This high-profile visit reinforced Ukrainian suspicions that Zelensky had personally accepted an invitation from Ursula von der Leyen to represent Ukraine at the G7.
On May 20, the president confirmed participation in the summit.
"Japan. G7. Important meetings with partners and friends of Ukraine. Security and enhanced cooperation for our victory. Peace will become closer today," Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
This year, the theme of Ukraine will be the main one, as the war in Ukraine affects all spheres of European life and the global order.
