Under the terms of the bidding, it is necessary to carry out construction and installation work, work on drainage, the device external electric lighting, reconstruct the surface of the airfield, to equip the site of anti-icing protection, cable lines, landscaping and other things.
Bids can be submitted until July 23. The auction is scheduled for August 30, 2021.
Zhytomyr mayor Serhii Sukhomlyn said on his Facebook page that the city plans to reconstruct Zhytomyr airport named after S.P. Korolev and the bridge near the railway station, as well as electrify a section of the Zhytomyr-Novograd-Volynsky railroad with funds from the state budget.
Prior to that, the government at its meeting on June 30 approved the opening of the international border crossing point at Zhytomyr airport for cargo and passenger traffic. The checkpoint will operate on a permanent and round-the-clock basis.
In November 2020, the government included 14 airports in the list of priority investment projects until 2023. Ten of them will be financed by the budget and by investors.
Ukraine intends to restart 16 airports in three years. In 2021 it is planned to build and relaunch 6 airports.
