In 2022, Ukraine received foreign budget support of $32 billion. The largest investor was the US – they transferred $12 billion. The European Union allocated $8 billion, and the International Monetary Fund $2.7 billion. Ukraine received the remaining funds from the European Investment Bank, the World Bank, Canada, Italy, the Netherlands, Germany, Japan, France, and others. International budget support is expected to reach the same or higher level in 2023.
It should also be recalled that the world society wants to support Ukraine by freezing Russian assets and transferring them to Kyiv. Recently, the Swiss government decided to confiscate the assets of former Ukrainian president Viktor Yanukovych. The fugitive and the promoter of the "Russian world" in Ukraine has more than $140 million in accounts in Switzerland. All of them have already been frozen. According to the decision of the Swiss Federal Council, the procedure for confiscating money will soon begin. It is noted that this process has nothing to do with anti-Russian sanctions, but Yanukovych’s money can also trace to financial support for Ukraine.
"With this step, Switzerland supports Ukraine," Swiss Federal Council.
