On June 14, the Ministry of Defence of the Netherlands announced the allocation of €150 million for purchasing 4 VERA-EG radar systems, which will enhance the air security of Ukraine. An extremely important decision against the backdrop of news about the development of new missiles by Russia and their testing in Ukrainian cities.
In addition, at the upcoming Ukraine Defense Contact Group conference, the Netherlands plans to announce the purchase of air defence together with its partners in the EU countries. The preliminary amount of the contract is €40 million.
The manufacturer VERA-NG calls it a device that "sees without being seen." Zero electromagnetic wave technology allows these radars to identify up to 200 simultaneous targets at a distance of up to 400 km. The enemy target's location is transmitted with an accuracy of 20 m and updated every 5 seconds.
