On June 13, the US Department of defense announced the preparation of a new military aid package for Ukraine. The package of weapons, vehicles and ammunition was developed within the exclusive powers of Joe Biden: in emergencies, the president can transfer military assistance to Ukraine from the Pentagon's reserves without the consideration and approval of Congress. And the situation is urgent because the Armed Forces of Ukraine launched a counteroffensive.
The $325 million package will include NASAMS ammunition, HIMARS artillery missile systems ammunition, 155mm howitzer shells, Stinger air defence systems and anti-tank weapons, more than 22 million small arms rounds. More: 15 Bradley combat vehicles, 10 Stryker armoured personnel carriers, as well as secure communications systems.
On February 24, 2022, the United States provided Ukraine with assistance for the defence of the state for ≈ $40 million. And this package is already the 40th.
