According to the branch of the Catholic charitable organization Caritas International in Freiburg, in connection with the armed attack of Russia on the Ukrainians, Caritas Germany collected a record amount of donations for the Ukrainians. Specifically, caring people and organizations donated about €71 million to provide food and drinking water to Ukrainians who suffered from the Russian war. This amount is several times higher than the number of donations for tsunami victims in South Asia in 2004.
We remind you that from the very beginning of the war, the World Central Kitchen has been operating in Ukraine and on the Polish-Ukrainian border, which daily feeds Ukrainians at help points, and also transfers food to the occupied regions.
