A Year Since of De-Occupation: 200 Bodies Not Identified

Criminologists cannot identify 200 Ukrainians killed by Russians during the occupation of the Kyiv region

Bucha, Irpin, Borodyanka, Kotyuzhanka, Motyzhin, Gostomel. This is where the Russian occupation of the Kyiv region began, and it was here that the most soulless Russian soldiers realised their bloodthirsty potential. Throughout the region, the Russians left mass graves in which killed Ukrainians of all ages were buried: from babies to the elderly, men and women.

In April 2022, the region was wholly de-occupied. After exhumation, many of the bodies were identified and reburied. However, a year later, 200 people still have not been identified and have not been handed over to relatives. Another 283 people are missing. Most likely, over time they will be found in another mass grave.

After the de-occupation of the towns of the region, law enforcement agencies found 1.374 killed Ukrainians.
