A Zambia Student Was Killed in the Russian Army

An international student was imprisoned in a Russian prison and then forcibly sent to war

The Zambian foreign minister Stanley Kasongo Kakubo break the news about the death of a young citizen of Zambia. On September 22, a 23-year-old Lemehani Nathan Nyirenda student died in Ukraine, fighting on the side of the RF. The deceased was not a mercenary and did not sign a contract with the Russian army. Since 2020, Lemehani Nathan Nyirenda has been in a Russian prison. Zambian citizen was sentenced to 9.5 years. As a citizen of another country from a Russian jail moved to the battlefield — not yet established.

"In connection with this regrettable development, the Zambian government demanded that the Russian authorities urgently provide information on the circumstances in which a Zambian citizen serving a prison sentence in Moscow could have been recruited into the war in Ukraine and, after that, died," said minister Kakubo.

The body of the murdered prisoner has already been moved to Rostov-on-Don, Russia. Zambia is waiting to receive the body of his citizen.

It should be noted that the recruitment of prisoners has been reported repeatedly in the media. According to the Russian BBC, Putin's confidant Yevhen Pryhozhyn proposed that people with prison sentences join to private military company Wagner.

In addition, the US embassy called its citizens to leave Russia. The reason for this is America's failure to provide total security for its people in the aggressor country.
