Additional Pension Increases for Some Ukrainians

The parliament of Ukraine introduced a pension supplement for women born in 1961-1962

A few days earlier, the government had decided to introduce additional benefits for women born in 1961 and 1962 who were planning to retire in 2022. The extra payment was approved to balance the opportunities of people who retired in 2021 and 2022. The partial compensation eliminates the financial difference in pensions based on the cost of products and utilities. This allowance can only be granted if women have not previously been paid or received another pension. Therefore, women who have received a retirement pension for long service, a family pension, or a disability one are not eligible for a supplement.

The additional money will be paid monthly. Women born before the end of December 1961 will receive 2.5 % more "deferral" for every six months.

Women born between 1 January and 31 December 1962 will receive 9% more regular cash benefits for deferred retirement every six months.

Let’s remember that since April 1st of last year, the pensionable age of women begins at age 60. By the way, men at age 60.

The amount will be set individually for every person. It is calculated from the number of pension payments received during the insurance period and the social security charges paid from wages. This means that every six months of a later retirement depends most on the official Ukrainian insurance period.
