On October 6, the president of the Aerospace, Security and Defense Industries Association of Europe, Jan Pie, announced the inclusion of the Ukrainian aircraft manufacturer Antonov. Now, the pride of Ukraine, the Antonov aircraft design bureau, will receive more preferences for cooperation with current ASD participants — Airbus SE, BAE Systems Plc and Rheinmetall AG.
"I warmly welcome Antonov as a new ASD member, an important step towards the integration of the Ukrainian aerospace industry in the European industrial ecosystem," Jan Pie.
"Antonov's membership of the ASD is the latest example of closer industrial cooperation between European and Ukrainian manufacturers," says Bloomberg.
We would like to remind you that Antonov designed and built Ruslan and Mriia, the largest aircraft in the world. Unfortunately, in the first days of a full-scale attack on Ukraine, Russia blew up the only Mriia in the world, which at that time was in its hangar in Hostomel town, Kyiv region. It is known that Antonov, in cooperation with other states, is building a second Mriia far from Russian eyes. Probably one of the sponsors of the project is Richard Branson.
