725 companies relocated their offices and facilities from the right side of the Dnipro to the central and western part of Ukraine due to the war

As the representative of the Ministry of economy, Tatiana Berezhna, reported, the war provoked a powerful wave of evacuation not only of the population but also of businesses. According to Berezhna, the total number of the companies that relocated from hot regions of Ukraine to safer ones reached 725. One of them is Philip Morris International — a British company that has been working in Ukraine since 1994: the company moved its production from Kharkiv to Kyiv.

Out of 725 companies, 528 have already fully resumed operations in the new region, another 284 companies are currently looking for a new location to move to.

On the state platform of the enterprise relocation program Prozorro.Sales, 1.816 applications for the relocation of enterprises were registered. Of this number, 601 companies eventually refused to relocate, as the region was freed from Russian occupation.

According to statistics, the largest number of enterprises moved to western Ukraine:

  • Lviv region — 29%;
  • Zakarpattia — 18%;
  • Chernivtsi — 13%;
  • Ternopil — 8%;
  • Khmelnytskyy — 7.6%.

Among the enterprises that decided to locate their facilities, the largest share comprises businesses in the trade field (more than 40%) and the processing industry (30%).
