Information about the cancellation of the visa facilitation agreement for Russia is published on the portal of the Council of the European Union. Czech interior minister Vit Rakusan said Russia's attack on Ukraine "trampled on the fundamental values of our international community" and destroyed the trust of EU states in the aggressor country.
What will change for Russian citizens after the abolition of the simplified visa regime:
- Increase in the visa fee from €35 to €80;
- Extension of visa processing time from 15 to 45 days;
- Increase in the package of necessary documents for obtaining a visa;
- Strengthening the rules for obtaining visas.
We remind you that Latvia, Lithuania, Poland and Estonia have banned the crossing of borders for Russian tourists with Schengen visas. On February 25, the day after Russia's full-scale attack on Ukraine, the EU countries cancelled the simplified procedure for obtaining visas for Russian diplomats and officials.
