The structure of mixed fodder production in Ukraine corresponds to the development directions of animal husbandry in the country. The most accessible products for the population are currently chicken meat and eggs. Due to this economic situation, the number of chickens in Ukraine has increased. Accordingly, the share of compound feed production for feeding birds increases and decreases for other types of domestic animals. In particular, according to the results of 2019, the production of poultry compound feed in total increased by 1.6% compared to the same period last year.
Analysis of the mixed feed and premixes market in Ukraine made it possible to identify factors that affect the price of the specified type of product. The main ones are:
- The cost of fixed assets - buildings, equipment, transport;
- Energy costs;
- Direction and dynamics of changes in household income, which affect the level of demand for livestock products;
- The price of raw materials for the manufacture of compound feeds and premixes;
- State policy concerning support of agricultural producers;
- Volumes of export and import of compound feed and premixes;
- Demand for feed in the domestic market.
The results of the analysis of the mixed feed and premixes market in Ukraine make it possible to predict the continuation of the current development trend of this market in the medium term. This trend can be changed by a sharp increase in state support for animal husbandry, a significant increase in the level of disposable income of the population, and an expansion of export channels for meat and dairy products.
