"Having ended the year with Joe Biden. We shared our assessment of the situation on the battlefield and at the table of moves. We talked about specific defense support, a new package of stricter sanctions, macro-financial and humanitarian assistance," Volodymyr Zelenskyy wrote on Twitter.
The White House also named the main details of the presidents' talks:
- The United States and partner countries will look for ways to increase financial assistance to Ukraine and will also provide our state with a tranche of $500 million;
- Scaling up humanitarian aid for Ukraine and Ukrainians;
- Strengthening sanctions to deter and stop Russian aggression.
"A peace agreement with the loss of Ukraine's territory and sovereignty will not lead to an automatic end to sanctions against the Russian Federation," Mark Rutte, prime Minister of the Netherlands, announced.
Therefore, we are confident in supporting countries friendly to Ukraine and our victory.
