Czech Republic prepares an autumn business mission to Ukraine

Companies seek risk insurance, guarantees and concrete agreements in defense, energy and engineering

The Czech Republic is preparing a business mission to Ukraine for autumn 2026. The delegation is expected to be led by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Industry and Trade Karel Havlíček and to focus on projects that can move from political support to signed commercial agreements.

Preparation before the visit

The date will be fixed after companies and institutions develop specific proposals. More than ten business representatives joined preparatory discussions in Prague, while meetings with senior Ukrainian officials are planned during the mission.

Financing and risk protection

A central issue is involving the National Development Bank in risk insurance and guarantees for Czech companies operating in Ukraine. Export credit insurance through EGAP and European Union instruments could make investment and supply contracts more bankable.

Priority industries

Czech companies are already active in Ukraine in defense manufacturing, energy and mechanical engineering. These sectors combine immediate reconstruction demand with opportunities for equipment supply, localization, maintenance and long-term industrial partnerships.

The mission will be valuable if it produces financed projects, clear allocation of risk and executable agreements. For Ukrainian partners, it can widen access to European technology and capital; for Czech businesses, it offers entry into reconstruction and modernization programs with substantial long-term demand.
