The Association of sappers of Ukraine transmitted information about the use of POM-3 Medallion remote-controlled anti-personnel mines by Russians.
Weapons of this type are equipped with a seismic sensor that analyzes the vibrations passing through the ground and their amplitude. If the device of the mine has recorded the steps of a person, the warhead is triggered, the mine takes off 1-1.5 m up and detonates.
To date, mines of the Medallion type have already been found on the territory of the Kharkiv region.
A reminder for citizens of all countries currently in Ukraine: if you see a similar or already familiar military device and an item of unclear purpose, do not come close. Call the police, territorial defense, or emergency services.
