€600 Mln to Ukraine From the EU

Ursula von der Leyen announced the transfer of macro-financial assistance to Ukraine

On May 20, the president of the European Commission tweeted in Ukrainian about providing Ukraine with a tranche of €600 million.

"Today, we disbursed a new tranche of €600 million in Macro-Financial Assistance to Ukraine. More is coming — we proposed an additional €9 billion loan for Ukraine in 2022. Beyond relief, we'll work on a reconstruction platform to help rebuild Ukraine as a free, democratic country," Ursula von der Leyen.

We remind you that a €9 billion package has been proposed within the framework of the post-war Ukraine reconstruction program. The program includes reforms, investment, and financial assistance.

"We propose to add to the significant short-term assistance we have provided so far, a new exclusive macro-financial assistance to Ukraine of up to €9 billion in 2022. This is assistance for a short time, to alleviate the situation right now, to support the government and for budget support," Ursula von der Leyen.
