European Union to Stop Russian Gas Forever

European Union prepares gas supply plan without RF's participation

During the 4.5 months of Russia's war against Ukraine, 12 countries that support Ukraine have already suffered. The Russian Federation uses the most vulnerable location in Europe — gas supply. So, from February to July, 12 countries have been left entirely without Russian gas or are experiencing supply cuts. The head of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, addressed a conference in Strasbourg on this occasion. The politician believes that the aggressor country will continue to exert pressure on Europe, using gas blackmail. Therefore, the European Union is beginning to prepare a plan to cease exports of blue fuel from Russia completely.

This plan is considered an emergency in Europe. It will include alternative gas supply sources or a complete replacement of this fuel. These measures will be taken because of the expected further reduction or even complete cessation of gas supplies. According to Ursula von der Leyen, the European Union will be able to develop a scheme that will supply gas to the most vulnerable areas. This requires absolute European solidarity.

Experts believe that any scenario will lead the world to reduced gas consumption. Let us also recall that Europe has not yet imposed a gas embargo. Therefore, gas blackmail remains the prerogative of the Russian Federation.

I want to remind you that Kazakhstan decided to export its oil, bypassing Russia.
