The press service of the state border service of Ukraine reported that it received thermal imaging equipment from the EU. The European Union donated a total of almost €500.000 for night observation of the border. Together with the new equipment delivery, EU aid has already amounted to more than €1.5 million.
Head of the division of good governance and the rule of law of the EU representation in Ukraine Xavier Kamu noted that this assistance is needed in the country, which is vulnerable on almost all sides due to Russian aggression. In his opinion, thermal imagers will help to defend better and identify threats on the country's border. New equipment from the EU will allow Ukrainian border guards to see the danger in the dark and detect even hybrid threats.
The state border service of Ukraine has already accepted military assistance and thanked the European Union for it.
