Ex-NATO Secretary-General Arrived in Kyiv to Open a Meeting on Security of Ukraine

Anders Fogh Rasmussen leads the Group on international security guarantees for Ukraine

Today, the 1st meeting of the expert Group on international security guarantees for Ukraine took place in Kyiv. Group co-chairs Anders Fogh Rasmussen and head of the office of the president Andrii Yermak personally participated in the meeting. One of the tasks of the GISGU is to develop a security structure for Ukraine.

"It is important that you agreed to lead, together with the head of my office, this important platform, the purpose of which is to develop mechanisms for specific security guarantees for Ukraine fundamentally,'' Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

"Unfortunately, today, we feel for ourselves what war is. And Ukraine must build an effective security system for itself," the president of Ukraine continued.

Volodymyr Zelenskyy noted that the modern world has not yet faced such a wave as is now happening against Ukraine. The globe and NATO have no algorithms for stopping or other responses. And now, the world and individual organizations have a unique opportunity to develop a clear and compelling structure of security guarantees.

Of course, the president of Ukraine informed Anders Fogh Rasmussen that Russia is shooting down civilian objects and massacring the civilian population, which is "targeted state terrorism that has all the hallmarks of genocide."

Anders Fogh Rasmussen said that he would do everything possible for the effectiveness of the GISGU.
