Expansion of Diya.City: Bionic Prosthetics Manufacturers Can Now Join

The Ukrainian government has taken a significant step towards fostering the growth of the bionic prosthetics industry by allowing companies engaged in this sector to become residents of Diya.City

This decision, announced by the Ministry of Digital Transformation, expands the list of activities that can be represented in this innovative legal and tax space designed for IT companies.

Key Points:

  • New Inclusions in Diya.City: The latest decision by the Cabinet of Ministers enables companies specializing in the development, implementation, maintenance, and repair of bionic prostheses to join Diya.City. This move aims to stimulate the growth of the bionic prosthetics market in Ukraine, where the demand far outweighs the current supply.

  • Favorable Conditions for Growth: Companies that join Diya.City will benefit from favorable tax conditions and enhanced opportunities to attract investment. This is expected to accelerate the development and scaling of the bionic prosthetics industry in Ukraine, making these advanced solutions more accessible to the tens of thousands of Ukrainians in need.

  • High Demand for Prosthetics: With the number of people requiring prosthetics in Ukraine potentially reaching up to 100,000, there is a critical need for the expansion of this sector. Bionic prostheses, which can restore most of the functions of lost limbs, are considered the best solution for these individuals.

Support for Prosthetics Industry

This initiative is part of a broader effort to support and modernize Ukraine's healthcare and technological sectors. For instance, in May, the largest prosthetics and orthotics center in Ukraine, UNBROKEN, was opened in Lviv with the support of the German government. The center is expected to provide prostheses to over 1,200 patients annually.

Moreover, plans are underway to establish a Ukrainian-Polish prosthetics center for veterans in Borodyanka, Kyiv region. This center aims to offer prosthetics and rehabilitation services and could potentially become a national institution with branches across the country.

By including bionic prosthetics manufacturers in Diya.City, the Ukrainian government is not only addressing an urgent need but also positioning the country as a leader in medical innovation and rehabilitation technologies.
