Ilkka Haahtela, director of the Finnish migration service Migri, believes that the number of Ukrainians who want to leave their country may increase. The main reason is believed to be the Russian strikes on the critical infrastructure of the country — the substation and power plants. In many regions of Ukraine, temperatures have already been recorded below 0°C. Therefore, in Finland, it is believed that against the background of frost and the absence of the usual benefits of humanity, Ukrainians can flee the war in winter.
No one refuses to accept refugees. Helsinki states that it is possible to additionally accommodate more than 10.000 people from Ukraine this winter. People fleeing the war will be given a place to live. In the autumn, the migration service Migri held a tender to open additional centres for refugees from Ukraine.
It should be noted that on December 5, Russia launched a new missile attack on the country’s energy infrastructure. This type of terrorism has been going on for almost 2 months.
