Healthcare recovery gets a practical investment package
France is financing seven medical projects in Ukraine worth more than 51 million euros. The package is important because it is not limited to symbolic support: it targets rehabilitation, telemedicine, intensive-care equipment and hospital capacity that Ukraine needs during the war and will continue to need during recovery.
The projects were discussed after a meeting between Ukraine’s health minister Viktor Liashko and Muriel Lacoue-Labarthe, special envoy of the French president for Ukraine’s relief and reconstruction. The first set of initiatives is financed through the French Civil Fund and includes equipment for intensive-care units, rehabilitation devices, ultrasound machines, telemedicine complexes and rehabilitation centers in Vinnytsia and Ladyzhyn.
Why rehabilitation is the core issue
For Ukraine, rehabilitation has become a long-term medical and economic priority. Thousands of soldiers and civilians need prosthetics, orthopedics, physical recovery and psychological support. That creates demand for hospital infrastructure, trained medical teams, specialized equipment and private-sector services around rehabilitation technologies.
The second round of cooperation is expected to focus on rehabilitation, prosthetics and orthopedics, hospital capacity, oncology training and medical education. Separate attention is being given to a military-medical center at Lviv Medical University, prosthetics for service members, a rehabilitation center in Odesa and the Superhumans ecosystem with Expertise France.

The French package shows where the Ukrainian healthcare market is moving: from emergency aid toward structured recovery projects with defined facilities, equipment needs and international partners. For investors, suppliers and hospital operators, this is a signal that medical reconstruction is becoming one of the most concrete areas of Ukraine’s recovery economy.
