General Initiative of National Banks of Ukraine and Poland

The countries issue silver coins in the form of a heart for the Independence Day of Ukraine

The National bank of Ukraine will make a coin of ₴10 denomination. It will depict a tight circle of figures of people, above them, there are steles of a yellow-blue flag and a national trident. The National bank of Poland issued a coin of 10 zlotych with a similar pattern. However, the upper part of the coin has a Polish national coat and a flag. On the back of both coins is an image of a Ukrainian and Polish guy at one table. Collectable coins are created as a set. Together, these 2 silver works of art create a heart.

Silver 999 samples will be used to make the coins. The weight of one coin will be 31.1 g. Ukrainian artist Volodymyr Taran worked on the drawings. Banks of Ukraine and Poland plan to issue a circulation of 10.000 collections coins. The part will be sold in Ukraine, part in Poland. Silver collectable coins will be sold on August 24 on the Independence Day of Ukraine.

"Friendship and brotherhood – the greatest wealth," is the name of the collection.

By the way, this is the second such joint initiative of these countries. Previously, Poland and Ukraine issued common coins in 2012.
