In 2022, the Clooney Foundation for Justice established The Albie Awards. It is currently distributed in 40 countries. During this annual award in New York will be present Ukraine. The Ukrainian organisation Truth Hounds, which has been collecting evidence of Russian war crimes since 2014, was included in the winners' letter. Truth Hounds will be awarded the prize For justice for survivors.
The organisation has made a really significant contribution to future punishments for the Russian Federation. Some of the material and evidence collected by Truth Hounds has already been submitted to the International Criminal Court, the European Police Department and some UN agencies.
To do this, Truth Hounds's team conducted 50 investigations, allocated more than 220 times to the combat zone, and collected more than 5.000 eyewitness accounts. In addition, they continuously collect evidence of international crimes committed by the Russian army on the territory of Ukraine. Thanks to this annual nominee for the prize established by the Clooney family, the world managed to identify about 200 suspects of war crimes.
On September 28, the award ceremony will be held in New York.
