The president of Georgia called a meeting of the Security council so that unrest in Russia does not affect the population of Georgia

On June 24, Salome Zurabishvili and the prime minister of Georgia convened an urgent meeting of the Security council in connection with the events in Russia. What issues were discussed by the first persons of the country:

"The first is to strengthen border controls and revise the visa regime, the second is to use lists of sanctioned persons at the border... The Council should discuss the reactions in Abkhazia and Tskhinvali in order to prevent the separatists from using these events to stir up misplaced fears among the population," Salome Zurabishvili.

The president said that it is important to follow what is happening in Russia and inform your population about this, as this is related to the security of the people of Georgia.

"We cant's just create an information vacuum because the society must receive all the necessary information about the measures taken by the state to ensure the country's security in time and in detail."

Against the backdrop of the threat of uncontrolled migration, Russia, the president announced the need to tighten control at the borders and revise the visa regime.
