Chairman of the ruling party of Georgia, Irakli Kobakhidze, said that the government does not want to fight. Still, since the end of February, the Ukrainian politicians have not concealed that this option is desirable. It is worth noting that such a position of Ukraine has a humorous character but shows the truth — Russia has still territories of foreign countries for decades. Therefore, the Ukrainian people and politicians hint that it is fair to return them.
After half a year of fighting in neighbouring countries, Georgia probably began to think about it. Irakli Kobakhidze proposed to hold a national referendum on the return of its territories. The politician talks about linking the Georgian people to the war with Russia. At the same time, the Georgian authorities declare their readiness to take measures in case of a positive response from the people regarding the war.
"I repeat once again — I don't know, this is probably a public announcement — we can conduct a poll, a referendum, whether people want to open a second front in Georgia or not. We can see what people are saying," Kobakhidze said.
For reference: in 2008, Russia attacked Georgia. The aggressor countries took South Ossetia and Abkhazia, belonging to Georgia. So, the opening of a second front would therefore be justified.
