The new facility, which opened on April 18, was launched by Robert Habeck, Vice-Chancellor and Federal Minister of Economy and Climate Action of Germany, alongside Oleksandr Kamyshin, the Minister of Strategic Industry of Ukraine.
The factory boasts the capacity to produce up to 1,000 UAVs annually and is set to become Quantum-Systems' second production site in Ukraine. This expansion represents a considerable investment by the company, with plans to inject up to six million euros into the Ukrainian economy over the next two years. The initiative is expected to create approximately 100 new jobs by the end of the year.
In addition to assembling drones, the new plant will also focus on manufacturing spare parts, enhancing the company's ability to support its products locally. This move aligns with Ukraine's growing importance as a hub for advanced technological manufacturing, particularly in the aerospace sector.
Adding to the significance of this development, Mykhailo Fedorov, Ukraine's Minister of Digital Transformation, highlighted the country's advancements in drone technology. According to Fedorov, in 2024, the production of long-range drones capable of exceeding 1,000 km will increase tenfold compared to the previous year, positioning Ukraine as a key player in the global UAV market.
This expansion by Quantum-Systems underscores the strengthening economic and technological ties between Germany and Ukraine, furthering Ukraine's role in the high-tech industry amid ongoing global demand for innovative unmanned aerial solutions.
