Recently, Putin announced his readiness to place nuclear warheads on the territory of the collaborating country of Belarus and added that Russia is capable of producing 1.600 tanks a year. The office of the president of Ukraine has already commented on this Kremlin nonsense.
On March 27, the speaker of the German federal government, Steffen Hebestreit, expressed Germany's position:
"Putin's statements should be considered as part of propaganda... steps towards escalation... We support Ukraine with all our might. We are not the only ones doing it, the USA and many other countries are doing it," Steffen Hebestreit.
The speaker stressed that Russia started the war against Ukraine and not vice versa. Therefore, NATO members will place the responsibility for violence and destruction, and the possible realisation of threats about nuclear weapons, precisely on the aggressor country. The Hebestreit stressed that Putin's statements about the capacity of the Russian defence complex will not affect the actions of Ukraine's allies in the way of helping Ukraine.
Andrea Sasse, the spokesperson for the German foreign Ministry, supported Hebestreit and added: "We will not change our course to support Ukraine." The speaker called the involvement of Belarus in the deployment of nuclear weapons irresponsible and the very reason why Putin announced his plans was deceptive.
