“IKEA” Donates €1,38.300 Mln for the Humanitarian Needs of Ukrainians

The money will be distributed to food and home improvement in modular homes for internally displaced persons

IKEA, which left the Russian market and poor Russians to die without coasters, is implementing several projects to support Ukrainians who have suffered from the war. In particular, internally displaced persons whose homes were destroyed by the war and are now forced to live in refugee camps in central and western parts of Ukraine.

The corporation will allocate €1.7 million, 1.5 of which will be directed to the Kolping rehabilitation and temporary accommodation centre for refugees in the Chernivtsi, Vinnytsia and Zakarpattia regions of Ukraine. By the way, the Chernivtsi region is the only one in Ukraine where there has never been a missile/drone attack and any other military tragedy. The rest of the tranche will be transferred to the account of the Red Cross, which will purchase and distribute food packages between refugee camps in the cities of Chernivtsi, Dnipro and Vinnytsia.

Another €31,000 will be transferred to the implementation of the Ukrainian project Balbek Bureau RE:UKRAINE HOUSING. Balbek Bureau is a Ukrainian architectural bureau and design studio. The RE:UKRAINE HOUSING project is the construction of comfortable modular eco-cities for Ukrainians whose houses were destroyed by Russia. Settlements will be built near Bucha.

"Consequently, we donated 145.000 goods, as well as allocated additional financial assistance to equip numerous accommodation centres, children's play areas and modular homes for Ukrainians who are looking for temporary housing," Olga Ilchishina, representative of IKEA Ukraine.
