On April 22, Spanish foreign minister Jose Manuel Albares announced that in the coming days, Spain would send 6 Leopard 2A4 to Ukraine and 4 more of the same tanks after a while. In total, Spain has 108 tanks of the 2A4 model, which is the predecessor of the latest 2A6.
"We will support Ukraine as much as it needs," Jose Manuel Albares.
The minister added that Ukrainians can count on all possible defence assistance from Spain and humanitarian, social and refugee protection. We remind you that Spain was one of the first states that declared their readiness to transfer Leopard to Ukraine.
It is known that in recent weeks in Spain, 55 Ukrainian specialists have been trained to work with Leopard. In the coming weeks, similar training will begin in Poland.
