Boston Dynamics robots that dance in sync with their owners or with each other are primarily of technical value. In Ukraine, for example, they will neutralize explosive devices that the Russian army left behind on the territory of Ukraine. In particular, the Kyiv region will be cleared.
"HALO Trust, a demining enterprice with multiiple US governmet contract to work in Ukraine, will use Spot, a Boston Dynamics made robot dog, to remove mortar shells and cluster munitions in formerly Russian-controlled areas near the capital of Kyiv," Chris Whatley, executive director of HALO Trust.
Thousands of dogs serve in different military departments of Ukraine. Almost 230 dogs work in the department of sappers, the most famous of which is the Chernihiv dog Patron. On May 11, the dog Patron and his owner were invited to the president's office to meet Justin Trudeau in person. Trudeau and Zelenskyy awarded the Patron with the Order for committed service and its owner, Mykhailo Ilyev, with the Order for courage III degree.
"Meet Patron. He has already helped Ukrainian forces detect more than 200 explosives, and he helps teach children about mines. The other day, resident Zelenskyy honored him – and his owner – for all that they have done and for all that they continue to do," Justin Trudeau.
