On November 21, a statement was published by Italian defence minister Guido Crosetto on the supply of weapons to Ukraine throughout 2023. The Council of ministers unanimously voted for the ratification of the decree, and then the decision was submitted to the Parliament for consideration. The initiative to extend the relevant decree for the next year came from Georgia Melanie's party.
On December 13, the Italian Parliament voted to continue deliveries to the Armed Forces of Ukraine until the end of 2023. This means that the decree has come into force, and Ukraine can count on receiving air defence systems and other military equipment.
The terms and methods of deliveries will be coordinated with other NATO countries.
It is worth noting that the left opposition forces demand to reduce the supply of weapons and rely on diplomatic negotiations.
