The British embassy in Ukraine has published information about the meeting of the heads of the embassy and the city — Melinda Simmons and Vitali Klitschko. The parties discussed the situation with the city's energy supply, which is significantly deteriorating due to Russian attacks on the energy infrastructure of Kyiv. We remind you that due to severe damage, Kyiv residents can be left without centralized heating for weeks in winter. Now in the city, to reduce the energy system's load, operates a system of rolling blackouts: around the clock, every 4 hours, power is turned off in different districts of Kyiv.
"The UK will continue to support Kyiv and Ukraine this winter and beyond," the embassy says.
These are not empty words since earlier, the UK became the guarantor for the allocation of $500 million from the World Bank. The funds are aimed at restoring the damage caused by the aggressor country on the eve of the heating season in Ukraine.
