Members of the Bundestag Arrived to Ukraine

Having visited the cities of Irpin, Bucha, and Borodyanka, destroyed by the Russian army, the representatives of the delegation paid more attention to the topic of arming Ukraine

On June 30, a delegation from Germany arrived in the deoccupied Irpin and Borodyanka:

  • Thomas Eredl head of the Foreign affairs committee of the Bundestag;
  • Knut Abraham a member of the Foreign affairs committee of the Bundestag;
  • Serap Güler and Kerstin Viregge — parliamentarians.

Halyna Yanchenko, a member of the Ukrainian-German inter-parliamentary group, spoke about the visit of members of the German parliament to Ukraine and their impressions.

"German parliamentarians were able to see with their own eyes the consequences of Russian atrocities: the most terrible places in Irpin and Bucha, the consequences of air strikes on civilian targets in Borodyanka. This amazed our colleagues," Halyna Yanchenko.

The Ukrainian and German sides discussed issues of protecting Ukraine in order to prevent the repetition of Bucha and Borodyanka not only in Ukraine but throughout the world.

"We thanked Germany for the support already provided to Ukraine and the first weapons supplies. At the same time, the pace of arms provision could be faster. For us, this means an opportunity to save our cities from destruction and save thousands of innocent lives," Halyna Yanchenko.
