Mockery by Russian Soldiers Over Ukrainians

The further the Ukrainian army advances, the more victims of Russian violence are found in the de-occupied lands

On April 10, commissioner for human rights Lyudmila Denysova shed light on new Russian atrocities against Ukrainians. These crimes against a person were committed not only on the territory of the well-known Bucha and Irpen but also in other parts of Ukraine.

Kyiv region. Makarov village. Russian occupiers cut off the hands of an 80-year-old man. This happened in front of his daughter, who was held by the Russians and could not help. The man died from pain, shock, and bleeding.

Kyiv region. A village of Bohdanivka. Russian occupiers killed a man and then raped his wife, threatening violence against her 3 year-old son.

The long-suffering city of Irpin. Two Russians raped a pregnant 20-year-old girl. She lost a child.

Chernihiv region. In the occupied villages of Yahidne and Lukashevka, the Russians set up their headquarters on the premises of the Ascension Church. After the liberation of the villages, the Ukrainian troops found the bodies of people with signs of torture in the churches. Probably, these are the bodies of local residents. After the torture, the Ukrainians were killed. We remind you that in the village of Yahidne, the Russians kept 150 women and children in the basement of a school for almost a month.

Kherson region. A resident of one of the villages told how Russians beat her 60-year-old father with gun butts and sticks.

The hazing and torture that the Russians inflict on Ukrainians is a war crime. It is defined by the statute of the International Military Tribunal and the Rome Statute of the International Criminal Court.

"There is no crime that the Russians have not committed here," Volodymyr Zelenskyy. For violating the Vienna Convention on the Protection of the Civilian Population in Time of War, the Russians and Punin will undoubtedly be held accountable.
