On August 31, minister Ben Wallace passed responsibility for the state defence to former MP Grant Shapps. The new minister of defence announced in X his plans to continue to support the Armed Forces of Great Britain and Ukraine.
"As I get to work at Ministry of defence I am looking forward to working with the brave men and women of our Armed Forces who defend our nation's security. And continuing the UK's support for Ukraine in their fight against Putin's barbaric invasion," Grant Shapps.
"Putin is losing the war in Ukraine and losing the energy war he's waging against the UK," Grant Shapps in another tweet.
We remind you that the planned rotation of the ambassador also took place in Ukraine: Dame Melinda Simmons is leaving Kyiv, and another diplomat is expected to serve in the international relations of states.
