On September 9, Japanese foreign minister Yoshimasa Hayashi began a 2-day visit to Kyiv. While the G7 summit was taking place in Hiroshima, Mr Hayashi met with Volodymyr Zelenskyy. According to the website of the Japanese embassy in Ukraine, Hayashi stressed that the G7 countries will continue cooperation to increase sanctions pressure on Russia, as well as support Ukraine in all possible ways. Minister Hayashi noted that the preparation of a bilateral document and subsequent consultations on the basis of the G7 Joint declaration on support for Ukraine is now beginning between Japan and Ukraine.
Mr Hayashi supported Zelenskyy's Peace formula and our state's national security and peace initiatives in Europe.
The parties discussed the destruction that the Russian war brought to our country and life. Yoshimasa Hayashi announced the state's intention to involve the public sector and Japanese businessmen in the restoration of Ukraine.
