Missile Attacks on the Energy Infrastructure of Ukraine on October 18

Since 6 a. m., Russia has been massively attacking with missiles and drones against energy facilities in Kyiv, Zhytomyr and Dnipro cities

On October 18, at 6 a. m., the next stage of the attack of the Russian army on energy infrastructure facilities began. Water and power supply facilities were damaged in 3 cities: Kyiv, Zhytomyr and Dnipro. The president's office has released damage statistics.

Kyiv. Preliminary known about 3 missile explosions in the Desnyansky district of the city, on the left bank of the Dnipro river. Objects of the energy and critical infrastructure of Kyiv were damaged. According to the investor of the energy sector of Ukraine DTEK, electricity and water supply interruptions began on the left bank of the river. DTEK and the city's water supplier company are working to restore water and light supplies. Due to the lack of voltage on the left bank, trams and trolleybuses changed their route. Air defence worked in the Kyiv region, Brovary town (4 km from Kyiv).

Dnipro. There were 7 missile attacks on the city. 4 missiles shot down air defence 2 hit energy infrastructure facilities. The objects were severely damaged due to an explosion and a large-scale fire that broke out. Several districts of Dnipro city, as well as the nearby settlements of Sinelnikovo and Vasilkovka, were left without electricity. The head of the regional military administration of Dnipro urges citizens to save electricity "wherever possible" while public utilities restore infrastructure. Zhytomyr. 2 Russian missiles hit the city's energy supply facilities. Because of this, there is no electricity and water in the whole city. City medical hospitals operate on a backup power supply.
