The air alert in Ukraine was declared 189 times in just 24 hours. Most of the alarms were in the Poltava and Kirovograd regions — 12 times. The alarm sounded 11 times in the Zaporizhzhia and Dnipropetrovsk regions. 10 times — in the Kharkiv and Cherkasy regions.
The advisor of the air force command of the Ukrainian armed forces said that Russia used Belarusian airfields. The aggressor raised the Tu-22 M3 aircraft 200 times. Not all of them were loaded with X-22 missiles. Some attack aircraft merely simulated missile launches.
However, the aggressor country also attacked the peaceful cities of Ukraine. On 24 August, the following suffered:
- Kharkiv region — educational institution, residential houses, field;
- Dnipro region — residential buildings, passenger train;
- Zaporizhia region — civil infrastructure;
- Poltava region — military facility;
- Khmelnytsky region — civil infrastructure;
- Sumy region — civilian infrastructure.
For the Dnipropetrovsk region, Independence Day was the most tragic. The occupiers killed more than 20 people, including children 6 and 11 years old.
On August 25, the number of alarms in Ukraine decreased. However, missile strikes were recorded in the Kyiv region.
