Russian Federation Excluded From ENNHRI

The European Network of National Human Rights Institutions no longer admits the National institution of ombudsman in Russia to assemblies

The international network that advocates human rights in today's world includes more than 40 States. Russia was also a member of the community until 13 April. The Russian Federation was represented in the ENNHRI by the Russian National Institution for Human Rights Commissioner in Russia, headed by Tatiana Moskalkov. However, at an extraordinary meeting of the General Assembly devoted to the issue of the membership of the Commissioner for Human Rights in the Russian Federation,  it was decided to remove the aggressor from the list of participants.

The basis for such a decision was the aggression of the Russian army against a neighbouring State. For more than a year, the Russian Federation had been waging war not only against the Ukrainian army but also against the civilian population, allowing itself to torture and kill prisoners of war, steal children, and dust civilians' homes. So, the ENNHRI believes that Russia has not fulfilled its tasks, being part of the international network.

"After an exchange of views, the issue of the expulsion of the NIHR of Russia was put to the vote by members with voting status A, and the General Assembly decided to exclude the NIHR of Russia from membership in the ENNHRI," the organisation reported.

It is worth noting that the organisation conducted the procedure for the exclusion of one representative for the first time. Fewer countries and organisations want to work with Russia. The Kremlin, in the person of subordinate soldiers, removes masks and shows the faces of flayers, who have nothing to do with the observance of human rights.
