Russian missiles almost destroyed the village Desna, Chernihiv region. Desna is a tiny area on the map of Ukraine. The village occupies 8 km². Part of the territory belongs to the training center of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. A little over 7 thousand people lived there before the tragedy of May 17, 2022.
"Early in the morning, the enemy delivered missile strikes on the village Desna. There are rescuers and law enforcement agencies working. Previously, we have dead and many wounded," said the head of the military administration of the Chernihiv region Viacheslav Chaus.
Russian invaders fired 4 missiles at once. and 2 of them hit residential buildings.
As of 7 pm on 17 May, 12 people were seriously injured. Eight villagers died on the spot.
On April 4, Chernihiv Oblast was freed of Russian war criminals. But even from the territory of the Russian Federation, the occupiers continue to kill civilians and destroy homes. Therefore, the military administration calls on all Ukrainians to adhere to security rules and not to ignore the alarm.
Also, a missile of the occupiers struck a village in western Ukraine. Deadly weapons were sent to the military unit in the Yavoriv district, Lviv region. Russian weapons were supposed to fall 21 kilometers from the border with Poland. Fortunately, Ukrainian defenders shot down an enemy missile.
