Slovakia Recognized Russia as Sponsor of Terrorism

On February 16, Parliament adopted a resolution recognizing the Russian regime as a terrorist

The Slovak media Aktuality published information about the results of the parliamentary session on February 16, 2023. In response to Russia's unprovoked full-scale attack on Ukraine in February 2022, the state condemns the aggressor country, recognizes its regime as a terrorist one, and recognizes Russia itself as a country sponsoring terrorism.

Slovakia supports Ukraine's fight for its independence, sovereignty and inviolability of internationally recognized state borders. Parliamentarians support the creation of an international tribunal for the military-political leadership of Russia and the prosecution of those who committed war crimes against Ukrainians.

The resolution recognizes that Russia is waging a hybrid war on the territory of both Ukraine and Slovakia. In order to strengthen the security of the state, parliamentarians call on all responsible services to strengthen measures aimed at protecting Slovakia.

Separately, the resolution condemns Russian nuclear blackmail and the criminality of referendums on the annexation of Donetsk, Luhansk, Kherson and Zaporizhia regions of Ukraine. Those who voted for the resolution emphasize that these territories are part of Ukraine.
