Ivan Bohun — commander of the Zaporizhzhia Cossacks army, a participant of the Ukrainian Liberation revolution of 1648-1676. His army of Cossacks defended Ukraine from the claims of Russia and Poland. For his activities, Bohun was shot in 1664. Today, Ukraine is defended from Russia by a brigade named after colonel Bohun.
