The Shutdown of the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant

For the first time in history, the largest NPP in Europe stopped. The emergency systems went off

The Russians almost destroyed the nuclear plant. The occupiers have been at the nuclear power plant for almost 5 months, regularly shelling it, polluting the air with radioactive dust, and blackmailing the world with an atomic explosion. Today at 9 a. m., the nuclear power plant could not stand it and stopped under the risk of an accident. The automatic emergency protection system of the nuclear power plant was triggered.

Due to fires at the ash dumps of the Zaporizhzhia NPP, the fourth communication line of the Zaporizhzhia NPP with the energy system of Ukraine was disconnected twice. 3 other lines of communication were previously damaged by Rashists. As a result, 2 operating power units of the station were disconnected from the network. Start-up operations are underway to connect 1 of the power units to the grid.

"Today, for the first time in history, the Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant stopped. The emergency protection of the power units went off after Russian shelling damaged the last working line of power output from the plant to the energy system of Ukraine. Diesel generators immediately worked to give energy to the station itself, to support it after the shutdown," Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

What will happen next is unknown.
