In 2020, trade with China was $5,7 billion, which is a clear representation of the long-term and close partnership between these two countries. Such results were obtained from the press service of the Ministry of economy, which described the results of the eighth meeting of the subcommittee on cooperation in agriculture between the government of Ukraine and the government of the Republic of China. The meeting was chaired by the deputy minister of economy of Ukraine Taras Kachka and deputy minister of agriculture of the Republic of China Ma Yusyan.
"China is Ukraine's most important strategic partner in Asia, with which we systematically develop cooperation in the agricultural sector. In particular, 4 months of 2021 shows a record volume of trade in agricultural products with China. The turnover of agricultural products during this period increased by 33,4% to $5,7 billion compared to the same period in 2020," said deputy economy minister Taras Kachka.
Increasing trade and diversification of products that Ukraine supplies to China — the main interests of Ukraine. The Ukrainian side noted the number of measures that the government is working on to open the land market, as this is currently one of the state's priorities. Such actions will provide an opportunity to buy land and open a business in Ukraine.
The parties discussed issues of cooperation in the field of fisheries. They also talked over the development of investment cooperation in the agro-industrial complex under the auspices of the bilateral cooperation program of the Silk Road Economic Belt.
Earlier it was recorded that most goods in 4 months of 2021 Ukraine exported to China $2,79 billion (57,3% more than in January-April 2020), Poland — $1,46 billion (40,3% more), and Turkey — $1,21 billion (41.3% more). Such data were provided by the State Statistics Service.
