Chernihiv region was occupied from February to April 2022. During this time, the Russian invaders managed to destroy hundreds of houses and infrastructure, killing dozens of people. Some of the occupants were captured by Ukrainian soldiers. Later, it was possible to establish the involvement of some of them in terrible crimes.
Two Russian soldiers are accused of violence and abuse of a family from the Chernihiv region. Russian men settled in the same house with an old woman, a 16-year-old girl, and her brother during the occupation of the region. Children suffered the most.
One of the men, a commander of the Russian Armed Forces unit, repeatedly tried to rape a 16-year-old girl. Before that, he hit a girl on the head with a gun, strangled her, and threatened to kill her family. After the girl was mentally depressed and physically tired, the criminal gave her to other occupiers. Several soldiers took turns raping the girl.
The brother of a 16-year-old victim was handcuffed by the occupiers, stripped naked, and thrown into the street.
The prosecutor general’s office of Ukraine handed over the suspicion to two Russian criminals. The Russian soldiers are waiting for a hearing, identification, and sentencing. Let us recall that this is the second case, connected with the trial of the occupiers who raped and killed in the territory of Ukraine.
