The Ukrainian Women’s Team Won the World Chess Olympiad

On August 10, 4 Ukrainian women won, beating 162 teams. This is the second victory of Ukraine in this Olympics

Today, the women's chess team from Ukraine won gold at the World сhess olympiad. Maria and Anna Muzychuk, Anna Ushenina, Yulia Osmak and Natalia Buksa from Ukraine defeated 162 teams from other countries and took first place.

The Olympiad was held according to the Swiss system and had 11 rounds. The Ukrainian women won 4 starting confrontations, losing points for the first time only in the 5th round with Azerbaijan, losing to a draw. From the 5th to the 11th round, Ukraine did not lose a single round again. Together with competitors from Georgia (2nd place in the Olympics) and India (3rd place), they played in a draw.

We remind you that the Ukrainian Maryna Vyazovskaya solved Kepler's 400-year-old hypothesis and got the most prestigious prize in the field of mathematics — the Fields medal.
